Anti-Sweat Heaters (ASH) and Door Miser Technology
Anti-sweat heaters (ASH) are electric resistance heaters installed in refrigerated case frames and doors to reduce condensation and prevent fogging. Condensation can cause frost and ice build-up on door gaskets, mullion chambers, and electrical raceways, obstructing the clear view of food products. According to a ComEd fact sheet, about 80% of supermarkets and grocery stores run anti-sweat heaters constantly. However, anti-sweat heater controls monitor relative humidity and only activate the heaters when necessary.
Benefits of Anti-Sweat Heaters (ASH)
Significant Energy Savings & Cost Reduction
Cuts heater run times by up to 90%, reducing operational costs by $200 per door annually.Enhanced Efficiency & Product Visibility
Maximizes energy savings year-round with targeted sensor placement, while preventing door fogging to ensure clear visibility of products.Reliable & Optimized Performance
Full on/full off operation, eliminating seasonal adjustments, and ensuring consistent, efficient performance of refrigeration systems.
